2011 Program Highlights

Girls AAU Basketball changed from age divisions to grade but that didn’t faze the Rockers who "rocked" 2011 with four teams placing at their Middle Atlantic DQT. The 7th grade team placed 2nd taking home the silver and a bid to AAU Nationals. The 9th and 10th grade teams also qualified for nationals placing 4th and 3rd respectively.
The 5th grade team shined in 2011 taking home gold as the undefeated Middle Atlantic DQT Champions. The team qualified and went to AAU Nationals in Hampton, VA at the end of June. The 5th grade team medaled at Nationals and have since earned a nationwide club power ranking of 12.
The Think Pink Jamfest continues to be one of the best run tournaments on the east coast. $4,000 was raised for the PA Breast Cancer Coalition.
The Senator Jim Lloyd Memorial Fall Basketball League expanded to over 100 participants.


2010 Program Highlights

The 10U and 15U teams both finished 2nd in their Middle Atlantic DQT, winning silver medals and qualifying for AAU Nationals. The Think Pink Jamfest continues to be a success, with over 115 teams participating. $3600 was raised for the PA Breast Cancer Coalition. The Senator Jim Lloyd Memorial Fall League is an immediate sell out for the second year in a row.


2009 Program Highlights

The Rockers 14 year olds were Super Regional Champions and took Silver
at the Middle Atlantic DQT. The 9 year old and 12 year old teams both finished 3rd at Mid-Atlantics, earning bronze medals for their efforts.
All three teams qualified for nationals. The Rockers 14s, 15s, and 16s all traveled to Penn State to compete with over 350 teams the Blue Chip USA Invitational Tournament July 5th-8th.
The 16s finished with an impressive record of 5-1 placing 9th in the 16/17U Continental Division. The 15s placed 12th in the 15U Pacific Division and
the 14s finished in 13th place in the 14U Northern Division.
The Think Pink Jamfest Tournament raised $2,500 for the Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition. 100 teams participated in the tournament.
Enrollment for the Senator James Lloyd Memorial 4v4 Fall Basketball League more than doubled in size and was an immediate sell out!

2008 Program Highlights

The 10th Anniversary for the Rockers came with much success to the program. The Rockers 13 year old team qualified and competed in Division
1 Nationals in Oklahoma. They were the undefeated Super Regional Champions and undefeated Middle Atlantic Gold Medalists. The 9 year old team finished 2nd in Middle Atlantics, winning the Silver Medal and qualifying for Nationals. The 16 year old team also qualified for Nationals by becoming undefeated Super Regional Champions. To coincide with AAU's newly formed 8U division, the Rockers featured one of the only 8 year old teams in the area. This young and tough team was a great addition to the program!
In April, Rockers Founder Marty Bednarek and his wife Lorri both received the honor of being inducted into the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame.
The Jamfest Tournament got a makeover for its 10th Anniversary.
The Jamfest became the Think Pink Jamfest and served as a fundraiser for the PA Breast Cancer Coalition.
Over 100 teams participated in the tournament.
The Rockers were able to donate $4,000 to the PA Breast Cancer Coalition and were also featured on Action News and in several local newspapers!
After a year hiatus, the Senator Lloyd Fall League was revived with much success!


2007 Program Highlights

Rockers 9 year old team was undefeated and won the Middle Atlantic Championship. They competed at Nationals and finished 7th in the United States. Our 10 year old team qualified for Division 1 Nationals and opted to travel to Division 2 Nationals and finished 9th in the country in this bracket. Our 12 year old team and 16/17 year old teams qualified for AAU Nationals.


2006 Program Highlights

Rockers best year ever with 6 teams qualifying for Division 1 Nationals. Teams were 9, 10, 11, 12, 14 and 16/17. Our 9 year old team finished 9th in the country and our 11 and 14 year old teams were Super Regional champions.


2005 Program Highlights

The 10A team is the Middle Atlantic Champions. Team also was Gold Medalist in Super Regional championship in Lehigh. The 11A team finished 3rd at Middle Atlantics and won the Bronze Medal. At Nationals this team finished 17th in the Nation. The 13A team finished second and won Silver Medal at MAA Championship. This is the fourth year in a row that this team has finished first or second in the MAA region. The 15A team finished in 5th place for the MAA region and also traveled to a number of College Showcases.


2004 Program Highlights

Four Rocker Teams qualify for Division One Nationals - 10A, 12A, 13, A and 14A. The 10A team is the Middle Atlantic Champion. The 14A the Super Regional Champion. The 12A team is the Middle Atlantic Silver Medalist.


2003 Program Highlights

The Rockers reached an ALL-TIME high of 18 teams. Our 11A team repeats as Middle Atlantic Champions!!! The 10A's finished second and the 12A's finished third. All 3 teams go to Division I Nationals this year. Our Fall programs attract over 300 girls region wide.


2002 Program Highlights

The Rockers expand to 17 teams and 220 girls. Our 10A team is the 2002 undefeated Middle Atlantic Champion. 10-A's, 11-A's, and 12-A's qualify for and go national tournaments. Seven Rockers were on the Junior Division gold medal winning Philadelphia team at the Keystone State Games. The Lloyd Fall League is expanded to include 7th and 8th graders and is an immediate sell-out.


2001 Program Highlights

The Rockers consist of 16 teams and 200 girls. Our 10-A team ties for fourth in the Middle Atlantic Championships. Our 11-B finished third; 12-B finished fourth; 16-B finished second and the 14-A finished seventh in their respective divisions. The Jamfest Tournament is a sellout with 100 teams participating. The Senator James Lloyd Memorial High School Girls Fall Draft League is begun with area high school players involved. The grade school clinic was a huge success. Both fall programs are open to all girls, not just Rockers. Seven Rocker players represented Philadelphia at the Keystone Games and their team won a silver medal in the Scholastic Division. Our first graduating class of six seniors yielded four college players, two of which made Division I teams.


2000 Program Highlights

The Rockers program increased in size with twelve teams ranging in age from 9-16 with nearly 140 girls participating on the teams. Our 10A team made Rocker history and became the first Rocker team to qualify for nationals. The 12A team finished in fifth place at the Middle Atlantic Championship and qualified for the NIC's. The 13A team had a seventh place finish at the Middle Atlantic's. The 15 year old team had a fourth place finish in the B bracket Championships. Our second Annual JamFest Tournament was a huge success with over 75 teams entered. A speed and agility clinic is introduced for our high school girls. The Rockers were official greeters for the Women's NCAA Final Four Tournament held in Philadelphia.


1999 Program Highlights

The club is dubbed the "ROCKERS" and doubles in size with eight teams and 92 girls competing. Our 12-A's rock the Middle Atlantic Championships with a fifth place finish out of over 70 teams. Our Jamfest Tournament is a success with over 60 teams participating. The Fall Basketball clinic is initiated for girls ages 8 through 12. 110 girls enroll.


1998 Program Highlights

Club is formed by local Northeast Philadelphia coaches to give NE girls an opportunity to develop their basketball skills by competing with and against some of the best players in the Middle Atlantic Region. We had four teams with a total of 38 girls participating.
